Step inside and you'll find yourself in a proper piece of 19th-century Norfolk life - all neat pews, high ceilings, and that specific smell of old hymn books and furniture polish that takes you straight back.

It's a working church, so visiting depends on when services are on, but the building itself tells you plenty about what mattered to ordinary people in this market town during the 1800s. The craftsmanship is honest rather than showy - good joinery, sensible proportions, nothing wasted. If you're into that sort of social history, it's worth an hour of your time while you're exploring Holt itself.

Families passing through won't get much from it unless the kids are genuinely interested in churches, but walkers and history buffs will appreciate the snapshot it gives of Methodist life in rural Norfolk. The town's worth a proper look anyway - independent shops, decent cafés, and it sits nicely between Kelling Heath Holiday Park and North Norfolk Camping & Glamping if you're based in one of those.

Free entry almost certainly, though you might want to drop something in the collection box. Not a destination in itself, but absolutely worth the detour if you're already in Holt.
