The setup is straightforward: there's stuff to climb on, stuff to slide down, and enough space that you won't feel like you're in a phone booth with two hundred other families. It's the sort of place where eight-year-olds will happily disappear for an hour while parents grab a bench and their sanity back.

The playground works well as a half-day stop if you're basing yourself at one of the nearby parks like Bradgate Park or Green Acres Caravan Park, both within five miles. Bradgate especially makes sense - you could combine a proper country walk through the deer park with an afternoon here to keep the kids occupied on days when the weather's not playing ball.

I'd be honest though: this isn't a destination in itself. It's a useful pit stop, the kind of place you slot into a holiday itinerary when you need a break from driving or when cabin fever's setting in. The playground's fine for what it is, but you're not missing anything if you skip it for Bradgate's woodland trails or a trip into Leicester itself.
