High Warren

The walk up to High Warren from Northwich isn't particularly long, but it's steep enough that you'll feel it in your legs. This Cheshire peak sits 746 feet above sea level - not exactly alpine territory, but it offers proper views across the Cheshire plain when the weather cooperates.

It's a walker's destination rather than a family picnic spot. The summit itself is modest - a trig point and some open moorland, nothing dramatic. But that's rather the point. You get the sense of achievement without needing a head for heights or technical kit. The surrounding countryside rolls out nicely, and on clear days you can see decent distances across the North West.
