Helston Light & Life Free Methodist Church sits quietly in Redruth's orbit, a working chapel that speaks volumes about Cornish nonconformist faith. It's a genuine, unvarnished place of worship - no theme park theatrics, no visitor centre with a gift shop.

The architecture is straightforward Victorian, honest rather than showy. You step inside and you get the real thing: wooden pews, that particular smell of old hymn books and floor wax, stained glass that catches the light properly. It's the kind of space where you actually understand what people came here for, week after week, generation after generation.

Not everyone's cup of tea, admittedly. If you're after cathedral grandeur or Instagram angles, move on. But if you're interested in how ordinary Cornish people actually worshipped, how they built their own spaces away from the Anglican establishment, this matters. Fits naturally into a ramble around Redruth itself, then a night at one of the nearby glamping spots.
