Heath Hill

Standing at just 324 metres, Heath Hill won't challenge serious peak baggers, but this modest Worcestershire summit delivers surprisingly decent views across the surrounding countryside. From the top, you can spot Worcester Cathedral's spire glinting in the distance on clear days, with the Malvern Hills forming a proper backdrop to the west. The walk up takes about 45 minutes from the nearest parking spots along the country lanes - nothing too taxing, though the final stretch gets a bit steep. Families with older children will manage it fine, but toddlers might struggle with the rough ground near the summit. Dog walkers seem to love it here, judging by the well-worn paths crisscrossing the hillside. The actual peak itself is marked by a small cairn and some patchy heather - not exactly dramatic, but there's something satisfying about reaching any proper summit. Best visited on a crisp autumn or winter day when the air's clear enough to make the most of those views. It's free to access, obviously, and you'll want to allow a couple of hours for the round trip including a stop at the top.
