Down by Poole's waterfront, this modest Victorian church sits quietly between the modern marina and the old town, easy to walk past if you're not looking. It's a proper working parish church with real character - all red brick and Gothic windows - and the interior is surprisingly light given how hemmed in it feels from outside.

The draw here isn't architectural fireworks. What makes it worth a visit is the setting itself. Stand outside and you've got boats bobbing in the harbour, the smell of salt water, and none of the chaos you'd expect from a busy seaside town. It's one of those places where you genuinely feel the weight of Poole's maritime history without any of the tourist theatre.

Ideally you'd roll in mid-morning when it's quiet, spend twenty minutes inside looking at the details, then grab a coffee from one of the cafes along the quay. Works well if you're basing yourselves at Ulwell Holiday Park or Sandford - both are close enough that a morning wander down to the water feels natural rather than a forced detour.

Families with younger kids probably won't linger long, but if you've got walkers or anyone interested in local history, it's worth knowing about. Free to enter, obviously.
