Habberley Trail

The Habberley Trail is a cracking woodland walk that winds through the Worcestershire countryside just outside Bewdley. It's a straightforward riverside path that follows the Habberley Stream through some proper green space - the sort of place where you actually remember why you wanted a break in the first place.

This is walker territory, plain and simple. The trail itself is well-maintained and doesn't demand any special fitness, which means families with younger kids can manage it without too much fuss. You'll see the stream for most of the walk, which keeps things interesting enough. The woodland canopy provides decent shelter on warmer days, though it can get muddy after rain so decent boots are wise.

It's free to access and there's no time limit - most people will spend anything from an hour to a couple of hours depending on how far they fancy going. Early morning is genuinely lovely if you want to avoid other walkers. Midday traffic can make it a bit busier than you'd hope.

If you're based at one of the nearby parks - Pinewood Retreat Glamping is closest at just 1.4 miles, while Hopleys Family Camping sits at 2.9 miles - this becomes a proper bonus for your stay. It's the sort of walk you fit in before breakfast or use as an afternoon wind-down rather than your main event. Not spectacular enough to be a reason to choose the area, but absolutely worth doing if you're already there.
