Greenanmore

The walk up Greenanmore is properly rewarding if you're based around Ballycastle and fancy something more than a beach stroll. It's a decent hill rather than a mountain - you won't need crampons or a guide, but you will want boots and a map because the weather turns on a sixpence up here.

Once you crest it, the views across the Causeway Coast are genuinely striking. On a clear day you can see across to Scotland, and the sweep of coastline below makes the climb feel justified. The peak itself is windswept and honest - no built-up summit, just moorland and space.

Families with older kids will manage this fine. Younger ones might struggle with the push to the top, and you'll need decent stamina. Walkers will love it as a morning expedition before heading back for lunch. The whole outing takes a couple of hours depending on your pace.

It's not a destination in itself - you're not going to linger for hours - but it's a proper bit of fresh air and genuine Ulster views. Go when the cloud's lifted. Anything else and you're just plodding uphill in the murk.
