GIANT TOURS IRELAND

Giant's Causeway is one of those places that actually lives up to the hype, which is rare enough to mention. You're looking at roughly 40,000 basalt columns jutting out of the County Antrim coastline like nature's own engineering experiment - the sort of thing that made Victorian tourists lose their minds, and frankly still does.

The walk down takes about fifteen minutes from the visitor centre, and you'll want proper shoes because the ground is genuinely uneven. Kids find it brilliant for clambering about, though younger ones might tire of the novelty after an hour or so. Serious walkers often push on to the Chimney Stacks and beyond - the coastal path here is genuinely outstanding if you've got the legs for it.

Admission to the basalt columns themselves is free, but the visitor centre charges for parking and entry to facilities. It's worth budgeting a couple of hours minimum, longer if you're exploring the surrounding cliffs. Go early or late to dodge the coach parties - they roll through from Ballycastle mid-morning like clockwork.

If you're based at Watertop Farm or North Coast 9 Glamping - both excellent spots - this sits perfectly as a half-day outing. The coastline around here is genuinely special, and you could easily string together visits to Dunluce Castle and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge on the same day. It's the kind of place that justifies the journey to the far north of the province.
