The woodland here is mixed broadleaf, which means you'll find oak, ash, and hazel creating decent cover year-round. Spring's when it really sings - bluebells carpet the floor and bird activity goes mad. Summer's lush and green, though can feel a bit claustrophobic if you're not keen on dense woodland. Autumn brings fungal fruiting bodies if you know what to look for, and winter strips the canopy back so you can actually see the structure of the place.

This isn't a manicured nature reserve with visitor centres and marked trails - it's proper woodland management by people who know what they're doing. Families with primary-school-age children will get something from it, especially if they're into spotting birds or hunting for insects. Teenagers might find it dull unless you frame it as a serious walk.
