About Golden Hill
On a clear day you'll see right across to the Lomond Hills and beyond. The whole ascent is straightforward enough that families with older kids won't struggle, though it's not the sort of place toddlers need come along for. Walkers moving through the area will find it a useful stop - a proper stretch of the legs with something at the end of it.
The park holiday angle works well here. If you're staying at Snugs at Logie Farm or Annsmuir just down the road, Golden Hill makes a decent morning sortie before you settle back for lunch. Allow an hour or so, depending on pace and whether you hang about at the top taking photos.
Bring a packed lunch if the weather holds - there's nowhere to buy food up there. Best visited when Fife's not wreathed in mist, which rules out quite a lot of the year if you're unlucky. It's free, naturally, and there's parking near the base. Honest rather than spectacular, but solid.
