Goddaricks

Dense woodland carpets the rolling hills near Trevarrick, creating one of Cornwall's quieter forest escapes. Goddaricks feels properly wild compared to some of the more manicured woodland walks elsewhere in the county - expect muddy boots and the occasional fallen branch across the path.

Families with older children will find plenty to explore here, though pushchairs are definitely out of the question on these uneven tracks. The canopy provides decent shelter on drizzly days, making it a solid backup plan when the beaches aren't appealing. Dog walkers seem to have claimed this as their territory - hardly surprising given the freedom to roam.

Allow a good hour or two to properly wander the main routes, though you could easily spend longer if you're the type to poke about looking for wildlife. The paths aren't waymarked particularly well, so stick to the clearer tracks unless you fancy a proper adventure.

Being so close to Tregarton Park and the other camping spots around Pentewan Sands Holiday Park, it makes a decent morning excursion before heading to the coast. Not the most spectacular woodland in Cornwall, but it does the job if you need a break from sand and surf. Just don't expect any facilities - bring water and come prepared for a proper country walk.
