Go Ape Bedgebury

Swinging through the canopy at Go Ape Bedgebury is genuinely brilliant if you've got the energy for it. This is an outdoor adventure course set in Bedgebury Forest, just south of Cranbrook, where you'll find yourself clipped to a harness tackling rope bridges, zip lines, and Tarzan swings high above the woodland floor. The whole setup takes about two to three hours depending on your nerve and fitness level.

It's properly physical. You'll be climbing, balancing, and launching yourself off platforms in ways that make your arms remember they exist. Families with kids aged eight and up will find it genuinely engaging - the younger ones love the thrill of it all, though absolute beginners sometimes struggle with the initial height anxiety. Adults without kids? You'll still have a laugh, especially if you're competitive about completion times.

The location itself is lovely for a long weekend. Bedgebury Forest surrounds the place with easy walking trails if you want to come back down to earth afterwards. Glassenbury Camping and Hopgarden Glamping are both within a few miles and rated five stars, so you could base yourself there and do Go Ape as part of a proper outdoor break. Both sites have that well-managed feel that makes life easier when you're trying to relax between activities.

Prices aren't cheap - book online in advance if you can. Morning sessions tend to be quieter than afternoons. Go on a weekday if possible; weekends get properly rammed with school groups.
