Sweetness MTB Trail

The Sweetness MTB Trail cuts through some proper solid riding country just outside Cranbrook in Kent. It's a mountain bike track that takes you through woodland and open sections, nothing too extreme but genuinely enjoyable if you're after a decent couple of hours on two wheels.

You'll find it's best suited to intermediate riders - beginners might find sections a bit much, while experienced trail riders could get through it fairly quick. The terrain mixes flowing singletrack with some rockier bits and the occasional short climb. Bring decent tyres and check your brakes beforehand because parts of it can get loose when it's been dry.

There's no admission cost that I can find, though you might want to check locally near Cranbrook first for any current info. Allow a solid two hours if you're not rushing, maybe longer if you stop to catch your breath. Weekday mornings tend to be quieter if you can swing it.

If you're basing yourself at one of the nearby parks - Glassenbury Camping and Hopgarden are both top-rated options within a couple of miles - this is a decent morning or afternoon ride without needing a long drive. Tanner Farm Park and The Original Hut Company are slightly further out but still accessible. It works well as part of a broader South East cycling trip rather than a destination on its own, but if you're already staying in the area, it's worth doing.
