The levels landscape means it's relatively flat, so no heroic climbs required.

Timing-wise, you're looking at anywhere from forty minutes to a couple of hours depending on how far you venture. Early morning or late afternoon beats the middle of the day, particularly in summer. The woodland can feel damp underfoot even when it hasn't rained - very Somerset - so proper footwear matters.

As part of a caravan park stay in the area, it's a solid way to break up days at Holly Bush or Dimpsey if you want something beyond the park itself. Not spectacular, but genuine woodland walking that doesn't require advance booking or a map app that's lost signal. Sometimes that's exactly what you need.
