Fun Park sits on the outskirts of Rotherham and delivers exactly what the name promises - a straightforward amusement park with rides, games, and the kind of chaos that gets kids wound up for hours. Nothing fancy, nothing pretentious. Just the sort of place you take the family on a drizzly Yorkshire afternoon when someone's threatening to lose it indoors.

The rides are the main event here. You'll find the classics - dodgems, carousels, and a decent selection of bigger attractions that should keep under-12s properly entertained for a solid couple of hours. Teenagers might find it a bit tame depending on what they're into. There's also the obligatory arcade games scattered about, which absolutely will cost you, so bring spare change.

Timing-wise, you're looking at half a day maximum, unless your crew is the type to queue for the same ride four times running. Weekdays are obviously quieter than weekends, which is worth considering if you're hoping to avoid standing about.

If you're based at Hooton Lodge Farm just down the road, it makes a decent rain-day option or an afternoon filler between longer days out. Don't expect anything revolutionary - there are bigger theme parks within driving distance - but for a casual bit of fairground fun without the schlep to Alton Towers or Blackpool, it does the job.
