Standing at the western tip of the Gower Peninsula, this windswept viewpoint delivers proper Welsh coastal drama without the crowds. The headland juts into the Bristol Channel with uninterrupted views across to North Devon on clear days, while below you the rocky shoreline takes a battering from Atlantic swells.

Walkers who've tackled the Wales Coast Path will find this a rewarding stopping point, though the approach can be muddy after rain. The viewpoint itself is simply a grassy clifftop - no facilities, no interpretation boards, just you and the elements. Families with young children might find the exposed edges a bit nerve-wracking.

Best visited on crisp winter days when visibility stretches for miles, though summer evenings work well for sunset photographers. Allow an hour including the walk from the nearest parking, longer if you're combining it with the coastal path. The lack of shelter means weather can cut visits short quickly.

For those staying at nearby parks like Whiteford Bay or Hillend Camping Park, it's an easy morning excursion before heading to Rhossili Bay or the more famous Worm's Head. Not spectacular enough to drive across Wales for, but if you're already exploring the Gower's western reaches from Swansea, it's well worth the detour.
