The woodland around Foss's Copse feels properly tucked away - the sort of place you'd stumble upon rather than plan a day trip around, though it rewards the effort if you're staying anywhere near Kingsbridge. It's a decent walk through mature forest, with the kind of quiet that makes you remember why people escape to Devon in the first place. The trees are substantial, the ground soft with leaf litter, and if you time it right you might spot wildlife, though be honest - most days you'll just hear the birds and see the occasional jogger.

Walkers will get the most from it. Families with young kids might find it a bit samey after half an hour unless they're the type to be endlessly entertained by sticks and puddles. There's no visitor infrastructure to speak of - just woodland - so expect no facilities, no signage telling you exactly where to go, and no admission charge either. Bring a decent map or be prepared to wander.
