Flimston Chapel

You'll find Flimston Chapel wedged into a cliff face near Pembroke - not your typical Sunday service venue. This small medieval church sits metres above the Pembrokeshire coastline, accessible via a steep path that drops down to the clifftop. It's genuinely odd in the best way: a proper working chapel from the 13th century that somehow didn't tumble into the sea centuries ago.

The real appeal is the walk to get there and the views once you arrive. You're standing on the edge of Wales looking out across the Bristol Channel, with nothing between you and open water. The chapel itself is tiny - you can see the whole interior in two minutes - but that's part of its charm. There's no café, no gift shop, no phone signal probably.

History enthusiasts will appreciate the age of it, though there's not much interpretation on site. Families with young kids might find it a bit underwhelming if they're expecting something grand. Walkers and photographers though - this is cracking. Allow an hour if you're coming from Pembroke, including the coastal path walk and time to absorb the views.

You could easily tie this into a broader Pembrokeshire coastal ramble. Several caravan parks sit within a few miles - King's Mill and Parke Farm are closest - making it a decent half-day excursion. Best in decent weather. Windy days make the cliff path genuinely unpleasant.
