About Feock Park
You're here to walk, mainly. The trails wind through oak and ash woodland down to the shoreline, where wading birds work the mud at low tide. Bring binoculars if you're serious about spotting stuff - curlew, redshank, the occasional heron standing dead still in the shallows. If you time it around the tides, you'll see the estuary completely transform. High water drowns half the mudflats; low water leaves them bare and gleaming.
Walkers will find it absorbing for an hour or two. Kids can do the paths without complaint, though there's not much in the way of entertainment beyond "look at the mud and birds". History types might appreciate that this is part of the Fal's shipping heritage - boats still move through those creeks - but it's subtle rather than spelled out.
It's a free access sort of place, which is proper. Pair it with a stay at Trethem Mill just down the road - they're barely three miles away - and you've got a decent base for exploring both the reserve and Truro itself. October through March is best if you want to see proper bird activity. Summer's lovely but busier, and the mudflats aren't as revelatory when the water's high.
