It's an amusement park for kids rather than a theme park in the Alton Towers sense - think dodgems, rides, arcades, and enough sugar-fuelled chaos to keep under-12s entertained for a solid afternoon.

The rides are modest but decent enough. You get the classics - spinning teacups, log flumes, a roller coaster that's more giggle than genuine scare. Younger children particularly enjoy the place, though if your kids are teenagers after proper thrills, they'll probably find it a bit lightweight. The arcade is extensive and will drain your two-pound coins faster than you'd expect.

It's free to wander in and look around, but you pay per ride - not cheap, so budget accordingly. Allow three to four hours if you're doing the full works. Best visited on a weekday when it's less rammed; school holidays get properly mental.
