Falls of the Braan

The River Braan drops into a deep gorge just outside Dunkeld, and watching the water tumble over the rocks is genuinely worth the short walk. You're not talking about a single waterfall here - it's a series of cascades that build into something properly dramatic, especially after rain when the volume is proper impressive.

The walk from the car park takes about fifteen minutes through woodland, and the path is well-maintained, though it gets steep in places. Families with reasonably fit kids will manage it fine. The woodland walk is pleasant enough, though it's not the sort of place you'd linger for hours - you'll see the falls, take some photos, and be back at the car in under an hour. Photographers might want to stay longer, especially if you're after moody shots through the trees.
