Euber Hill

Standing at just 39 metres above sea level, this East Yorkshire high point won't challenge serious fell walkers, but it offers something rather special - a proper 360-degree view across the Holderness Plain that you simply can't get anywhere else in the area. The gentle climb from the car park takes about fifteen minutes through pleasant farmland, making it accessible for most families with reasonably mobile children.

From the modest summit, you can see clear across to the Humber Bridge on a good day, with the Yorkshire Wolds rolling away to the west and the North Sea glinting to the east. It's particularly lovely at sunset when the light catches the patchwork of fields below. The walk itself is straightforward enough for pushchairs on the lower sections, though the final approach gets a bit rough underfoot.

History buffs will appreciate that this was once the site of a Bronze Age burial mound, though there's precious little to see of that now. What makes Euber Hill worth the short detour from Hornsea is its accessibility - you can bag a 'peak' and enjoy those views without breaking into a proper sweat. Families staying at nearby Sea View Country Park or Cowden Holiday Park will find it makes a nice hour's outing, especially if you fancy stretching your legs after a day on Hornsea beach.
