The Theatre and arts centre sits right on the banks of the River Ness, a proper focal point if you're spending time in Inverness town centre. It's a modern building - all glass and angles - that hosts theatre productions, comedy nights, exhibitions and live music throughout the year. Inside you'll find a cinema, a couple of bars, and usually something interesting on the programme.

For families with older kids or teenagers, Eden Court works well as an evening out without the long drive elsewhere. Theatre productions tend toward the accessible end of things rather than experimental fringe work. If you're after a rainy-day activity during a caravan park stay at Bunchrew or Ardtower - both within three miles - it fills a gap nicely. Younger children might fidget through a full show, but the cinema screens mainstream films that appeal to families.

Check their website for what's on during your visit, as programming changes seasonally. Admission varies wildly depending on the show. Allow a couple of hours if you're catching a film, longer for a theatre production. The bars are decent for a pre-show drink if you're dining beforehand elsewhere in town.

It's not a must-do attraction in its own right - you're not missing something essential if you skip it. But if something catches your eye on their schedule and you're based at one of the nearby parks like Coulmore Bay or Go Glamping at Loch Ness, it's worth checking out. The location by the river is pleasant for a walk before or after.
