Dun Mhuirageul, dun site

A crumbling stone fort on a peninsular jutting into Loch Awe, Dun Mhuirageul is the sort of place you'll either find properly atmospheric or slightly underwhelming depending on what you're after. The dun itself - an Iron Age fortification - sits overlooking the water with views toward Ben Cruachan, though what remains now is fragmentary stonework rather than anything you can walk around like a castle.
