Downton Cuckoo Fair

The Downton Cuckoo Fair is one of those proper old English traditions that feels almost too quaint to be real - until you're actually there watching it unfold. Held annually in this quiet Wiltshire village near Salisbury, it's a celebration that's been going since Victorian times, when locals would gather to mark the arrival of spring and, supposedly, to bid farewell to the cuckoo bird that had signalled the season's change.
