Disgyn Dŵr Cenarth Falls

The Teifi River throws itself over a series of rocky shelves here with proper force, especially after heavy rain. You can feel the spray from the viewing area above Cenarth Falls - that's what Disgyn Dŵr means in Welsh, and it's exactly what you get. The water froths white against dark stone, then calms into a pool below where you might spot salmon leaping on their upstream journey. It's a five-minute walk from the car park, well-signposted, and costs nothing.

This spot works brilliantly for families who've had enough of the car. Kids get genuinely excited about spotting fish, and there's enough drama in the water to hold their attention for a proper half-hour. The path is manageable for most ages, though it gets steep toward the riverbank. Walkers appreciate it as part of a longer circuit along the Teifi - the river corridor here is genuinely beautiful, with oak woodland creeping right down to the water's edge.

The falls themselves can feel a bit underwhelming if you've just come from somewhere with more dramatic water features, but as local surprises go, it's a solid one.
