Disgwylfa Fawr

The walk up Disgwylfa Fawr rewards you with proper views across Cardigan Bay and the Ceredigion coastline. It's not a particularly high peak - you're looking at around 600 metres - but it's steep enough to earn the vista. On a clear day you can see right across to the Preseli Hills inland, and on the coast side, the sight of Aberystwyth tucked below with the pier visible is genuinely striking.

This one's for walkers who want a decent half-day outing without needing crampons or special kit. The terrain is boggy in places, especially after rain, so proper boots matter. Allow two to three hours for the round trip depending on fitness and how long you linger at the top. There's no café, no facilities - just you, the mountain, and the Welsh weather doing what Welsh weather does.

Historically minded visitors will note the old moorland landscape; the peak itself was likely significant to local people centuries back. Kids who enjoy the outdoors will manage it fine, though younger ones might find the bog sections tedious.
