The cliffs here drop dramatically towards Exmouth, and on a clear day you can see right along the coast towards the Exe Estuary. It's a proper vantage point - the kind of spot where you actually understand why this stretch of Devon coast matters.

What you get is straightforward: a viewpoint where the red sandstone cliffs meet the sea, with good sightlines both east and west. On busy days families cluster here with their phones out, which tells you it's accessible enough that even young kids won't struggle with the walk. The views alone are worth twenty minutes of your time, longer if you've brought binoculars and fancy spotting the occasional seabird.

Historically, these cliffs have been shifting and eroding for centuries - worth knowing before you lean too far over the edge. The location works brilliantly if you're staying at Haven Devon Cliffs Resort or Haven Devon Cliffs Holiday Park, both virtually on the doorstep. You could easily tack this onto a morning before heading to Ladram Bay or Dawlish Sands Holiday Park for a proper beach day.

Go early if you can. By mid-morning in summer, the car park fills up fast. The walk itself isn't taxing - twenty minutes from Exmouth town centre, mostly flat - but the wind can be brutal when it picks up, so bring a jumper even if the forecast looks mild. Worth the detour if you're in the area, though it's not the sort of place you'd drive three hours for on its own.
