Deliverence - Red Route 110

The Red Route 110 near Cranbrook is a proper cycling trail that cuts through some of Kent's quietest countryside. If you're into two-wheeled exploration, this one delivers - a decent stretch of waymarked path that takes you past working farmland and proper old-growth woodland without the tourist crush of the main cycle routes.

It's genuinely more for confident cyclists than casual family pedalling. The surface varies, some sections get rutted after rain, and the navigation requires paying attention rather than just following tarmac. But that's part of the appeal if you like finding routes that feel less packaged.

You'll get the most out of this if you're doing a longer cycling trip through the Weald rather than popping over for an afternoon. Two to three hours minimum to make the journey worthwhile. The light here is lovely in late afternoon - that golden hour hits differently when you're moving through proper Kentish farmland.

Stay at Glassenbury Camping nearby (rated 5.0, only 2.2 miles away) and you've got a proper base for exploring the quieter routes around here. Tanner Farm Park is another option if you need more facilities. Neither is fancy, but that suits this kind of riding. This isn't a destination you visit on its own - it's part of a bigger cycling weekend. Worthwhile if you know what you're after, but don't expect signage or facilities.
