Daisy Dog Meadow

A sprawling meadow just outside Petersfield where wildflowers run riot in summer and the whole place feels properly alive with butterflies and bees. You're essentially walking through an untamed field - no visitor centre, no café, just grass, colour, and the kind of peace that makes you remember why you left the city.

It's ideal for families with younger kids who need to run about without worrying about traffic, and walkers after something gentle rather than demanding. The meadow works best May through August when the flowers are actually in bloom; going in winter would be pointless. Allow an hour if you're the type to stop and look at things. Less if you just fancy a quick stroll and some fresh air.

Free to access, naturally. No facilities that I'm aware of, so bring water if it's warm.

Fits nicely into a park holiday in the area - Adhurst Yurts is barely three miles away and would suit anyone wanting outdoor skills alongside their break, while Cedar Valley and Bow Hill Farm over in West Sussex give you more traditional caravan options if you need proper amenities. The meadow itself is the kind of place you pop into between other things rather than make a special journey for, unless you're genuinely into wildflowers or want to teach kids about native species. If that sounds like you, brilliant. If you're after attractions with actual things to do and see, look elsewhere.
