The miniature railway at Crewe Heritage Centre is genuinely good fun, especially if you've got kids who are obsessed with trains. It's a proper working line where you actually ride in small-scale carriages pulled by working locomotives - not just watching from a distance. The whole thing sits within the heritage centre itself, so you get the railway experience plus access to Crewe's engineering history, which is actually fascinating stuff if you care about Victorian industry.

You'll spend a good hour here minimum, probably two if you're thorough. The rides themselves are short but well-run, and there's enough to poke around and examine while you're waiting. Children aged four to twelve will absolutely lose their minds; older teenagers and adults who aren't specifically interested in rail heritage might find it a touch twee, though the nostalgia factor wins some over.
