About Creag Craiggan
The summit gives you a decent sweep across Perthshire. On a clear day you're looking at decent vistas, though it's not the dramatic stuff you get from the bigger peaks further north. The approach is straightforward woodland walking that opens up as you gain height, and the terrain is manageable for anyone with reasonable fitness.
This works best for folk who want a proper walk without the commitment of Ben Lawers or the crowds that come with it. If you're camping at Pitilie Pods or Grandtully Station - both within a few miles - it's an ideal way to burn off energy mid-week. Not a "go out of your way for this" destination on its own, but absolutely worth fitting in if you're already in the Pitlochry area.
Time it for late morning to catch decent light, and go when the midges aren't fierce - basically anything from late April through to September works fine. Bring water. There's no visitor infrastructure up there, so come prepared.
