Creag Bhàn

The walk up Creag Bhàn isn't long, but it's steep enough to earn your views. Starting from near Ballachulish, you're looking at a proper scramble - not technical, but you'll feel your legs working. The summit sits at 595 metres, which means you're high enough to see across to Ben Nevis and down the length of Glencoe. On a clear day it's genuinely special.

This one suits hill walkers who don't want all day on a mountain. Families with older kids can manage it, though the younger ones might find the climb tedious. It's also popular with photographers - the light across the glen in late afternoon is worth timing for. Allow two to three hours return, depending on pace and how long you linger at the top.

Don't come expecting solitude. Creag Bhàn pulls crowds, particularly weekends and summer holidays. But the views justify it. You get a real sense of Glencoe's scale without committing to a full day on one of the bigger peaks.
