The walk up Craig Odhar from Pitlochry isn't long, but it's steep enough that you'll feel it in your legs. This isn't a gentle afternoon stroll - it's a proper hill that commands respect, especially if the weather turns. The reward, though, is worth every breathless moment: views across the Tummel Valley that stretch for miles, with the Perthshire hills rolling away toward the horizon like something from a Victorian landscape painting.

It's the kind of walk that suits hikers and serious walkers far more than casual strollers. You're looking at roughly two hours up and down, depending on fitness and how long you linger at the top. The path itself is well-trodden but can be boggy in places, so decent boots aren't optional. Go on a clear day - on misty mornings the views simply vanish, and there's not much else to hold your attention once you're up there.

Families with older kids will manage fine, but younger ones might struggle with the gradient and rocky sections. This is proper hiking territory, not a park amble. Winter can be treacherous, so spring through autumn is your window.
