If you're based at Ferry Meadows or Nene Outdoors - both within a couple of miles - it's worth a morning visit on a quieter day. Rockingham Forest Park further afield offers more facilities if you want something with a bit more structure. Chesterton Dole pairs well with a broader exploration of the Nene Valley rather than standing alone as your main event. It's the sort of place that justifies itself as part of a longer park holiday, not a reason to book one.
