Chedgrave Dog Park

A dedicated space for dogs to run about freely - that's what Chedgrave Dog Park offers, and honestly, if you're touring Norfolk with a dog in tow, it's worth knowing about. Located just outside Bungay, it's the sort of place where your dog can properly stretch their legs without you fretting about traffic or livestock.

The park itself is straightforward: open grassland where dogs can chase, sniff, and socialise with other mutts. Nothing fancy, but that's rather the point. You'll find it appeals most to families with energetic dogs - the kind that need a proper run before they'll settle in a caravan for the evening. A quick visit before heading back to Wardley Hill Campsite or The Wildings Elms Meadow would break up a journey nicely and tire out a restless spaniel or terrier.

Timing-wise, early morning or late afternoon tends quieter if your dog's nervous around others. Allow 30 minutes to an hour depending on how much your pooch wants to investigate every corner. The ground can get boggy after rain, so wellies aren't a bad shout.

It won't keep non-dog owners entertained for long, and there's little here for kids beyond watching their dog play. But if you're basing yourself at one of the nearby campsites and have a four-legged companion, it's a genuine lifesaver - a proper relief valve for pent-up energy before settling down for the night.
