It's the kind of place where you can walk the shoreline without crowds, spot waterfowl properly, and actually hear yourself think.

The loch itself is small enough to feel intimate but large enough that the views don't get tired after twenty minutes. The walks around it are straightforward rather than dramatic - think flat paths and gentle slopes, so families with younger kids or anyone not in the mood for serious hiking will find it manageable.
