Carr Lodge Park Horbury

Free to access and open year-round, which makes it useful as a break during a caravan holiday at Broadlands Farm Touring Caravan Site down the road - less than two miles away, so you could easily pop over for an afternoon walk. Mapplewell Meadows Farm is another base within striking distance if you're making a longer stay. Spring and autumn are probably your best bets for wildlife spotting when migratory birds pass through, though winter has its own appeal when the reserve is quieter. Don't come expecting wilderness drama, but if you value a solid walk with genuine nature interest, it delivers.
