It's best for people who like a gentle walk without needing anything fancy at the end of it. Families with young kids might find it a bit dull after half an hour - there's not much to actually do once you've walked around - but serious birdwatchers and those after a quiet couple of hours will rate it. The paths are straightforward enough, though you'll want decent boots if it's been wet.

The whole loop takes roughly an hour at a steady pace, depending on how often you stop. Being free and accessible makes it easy to slot into a longer day out. If you're staying at one of the nearby farms - Coedhirion, Church House, or Lan Farm Glamping are all within five miles - it's a decent local walk that doesn't require petrol to reach. Carmarthen itself is close enough for supplies and lunch, which helps break up a park holiday. Spring and autumn are best for birdlife; summer can be a bit quiet on that front.
