Cape Cornwall

The cliffs at Cape Cornwall rise abruptly from the sea in a way that feels properly dramatic, especially when you've just driven past the flatter stretches around Penzance. It's one of Cornwall's most westerly points - though not the absolute westernmost, which catches people out - and the walk up from the car park takes maybe twenty minutes if you're not rushing.

Once you're up there, the views are genuinely excellent. You get the Atlantic on three sides, and on a clear day you can see right across to the Lizard Point way off in the distance. There's an old tin mining chimney still standing, a proper relic from when this place mattered for industry rather than Instagram shots. The grassy clifftops are cracking for a walk, and it's far less crowded than Porthcurno or Mousehole if you're after that windswept Cornish coast feel without the coach parties.

It's free to visit and there's no set time you need to allow - an hour covers the main walk and views comfortably, though you could easily spend longer if you're the sort who likes to sit with a coffee and just stare at the sea. Walkers will genuinely enjoy this, and families with older kids who can manage the clifftop path will find it worthwhile. The wind can be ferocious, mind you, so pack a proper jacket even in summer.

From Roselands Caravan Camping Park it's barely a twenty-minute drive, making it a solid half-day add-on to a park holiday. It breaks up the time nicely without feeling like a major expedition.
