You'll walk through mature woodland on several holes, which breaks up the round nicely. The greens are well-maintained and the fairways generally forgiving if your handicap hovers in double figures. Par 70, if accuracy matters to you. Golfers serious about their game will appreciate it; casual players won't feel out of place either, though do check handicap requirements when booking.

Stay at Callander Woods Holiday Park just half a mile away and you're within walking distance for an evening round. Keltie Bridge Caravan Park, barely under a mile off, offers another solid base if you're planning a few days of golf mixed with exploring the Trossachs proper.

It's not championship-level difficulty, but that's the appeal - it's the kind of course you can actually enjoy rather than spend eighteen holes frustrated. Book ahead if you're a visitor, and allow a good four hours including a pint afterwards. The clubhouse does decent food. Worth the detour if golf matters to your holiday; worth skipping if you're here purely for lochs and walking.
