An old converted barn just outside Beverley is where you'll find Calf House Studios - a working gallery and artist space that feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile. The studio itself is the main draw: you're watching artists actually make things, not just viewing finished pieces behind velvet ropes. It's the kind of place where you can chat to the people creating the work, which makes it feel less like a gallery visit and more like dropping in on someone's creative practice.

What's on changes depending on who's working and what they're producing at the time. Expect contemporary pieces - paintings, sculptures, installations - but don't come expecting grand statements. This is local, accessible art made by people who know the East Yorkshire landscape and community well.
