Burlish Top Nature Reserve

The views from Burlish Top are genuinely worth the climb. This nature reserve sits on high ground overlooking Bewdley and the Worcestershire countryside beyond - on a clear day you can see for miles across rolling farmland and woodland. It's a proper working landscape rather than manicured gardens, which means you get actual nature: grassland, scrub, and the wildlife that comes with both.

Walkers get the most from this spot. There's no visitor centre or café, just open access to the hillside where you can wander the paths at your own pace. The walk up isn't trivial - it's a decent climb from Bewdley - but the reward is space and quiet. Families with young kids might find the exposed nature of it a bit exposed; there's nothing to keep them entertained if they get bored, though older children who can manage the walk will enjoy the scale of the views.

It's free to visit and there's no time pressure, so you can spend twenty minutes soaking it in or a couple of hours exploring the grassland paths properly. Spring and early summer are best - the wildflowers make the hillside proper special and you'll see far more wildlife activity.
