The path in is straightforward enough, though the shingle can be rough on paws in summer heat, so bring water.

It's free, and there's no official opening hours because it's a working nature reserve - you're essentially roaming a protected landscape. Allow a solid couple of hours if you want to feel like you've actually been somewhere. Spring and autumn are best; summer weekends can get busy with day-trippers from nearby Hayling Island Holiday Park and The Old Dairy Farm Glamping just up the road.
