Brighton i360

The i360 is Brighton's answer to the London Eye - a 162-meter observation tower that rises from the seafront like a giant glass bullet. You step into a moving observation pod that slowly rotates as it climbs, giving you 360-degree views across the Sussex coast, the Downs, and on clear days, right out towards the Isle of Wight. It takes about thirty minutes for a full rotation, and honestly, it's worth doing once.

The main appeal is the perspective it gives you of Brighton and the surrounding landscape. You'll spot the marina, the pier, Shoreham's sprawl inland - all laid out like a map beneath you. Kids tend to enjoy the height without the full vertigo hit of the Eye, and photographers will find good opportunities, particularly in that golden hour before sunset.

It's paid admission and sits right on the seafront near the marina, so factor in a couple of hours if you're combining it with a walk along the prom or a browse in the adjacent development. From any of the nearby campsites - Pegs and Pitches is barely over a mile away - you're genuinely just fifteen minutes' walk from the tower.

On balance, it's not essential to your Sussex trip, but if you're already in Brighton and the weather's decent, the 360-degree experience beats standing on the pier looking at the same view from ground level. Go for it if you're staying locally; don't plan a special journey unless you're really keen on tall structures and views.
