Bollowall Cliff

The walk up to Bollowall Cliff from Penzance side isn't particularly long, but it's steep enough that you'll feel it in your legs. What you get at the top, though, is genuinely worth the effort - a proper dramatic coastline view with Land's End visible across the bay if the weather's playing ball.

It's the kind of spot where you understand why people moved to Cornwall in the first place. The cliffs drop away sharply, the sea churns below, and on a clear day you can see all the way along the Penwith Peninsula. Walkers will love it because it fits neatly into a longer coastal route without feeling like a slog. Families with capable children can manage it, though the approach is a bit rough underfoot in places - nothing treacherous, just watch your footing.

You won't find any facilities up there, so bring water and maybe a packed lunch if you want to sit for a bit. The light's best in late afternoon when it catches the cliff face properly. Allow a couple of hours if you're walking from Penzance town centre itself.
