Blaeberry Hill

The walk up Blaeberry Hill is straightforward enough, but you'll work for the views. This is proper hill-walking territory - not a casual stroll, though the peak itself sits only around 430 metres up, so it won't destroy you. The real appeal here is what opens up once you're at the top: the Firth of Clyde spreads out below, and on a clear day you can see across to the Isle of Bute and beyond. It's the kind of vantage point that makes you understand why people live in Argyll rather than just pass through.

Dunoon sits just a few miles away, making this ideal for anyone based nearby or staying at one of the parks in the area. Beach House Pods and Hunters Quay Holiday Village are both within striking distance if you're planning a longer stay. The walk takes somewhere between two and three hours depending on pace and how often you stop to catch your breath or admire the view.

This works best for anyone with solid legs - families with younger kids might find it a slog, but teenagers who can handle a bit of elevation gain will get something proper from it. Walkers in the region often pair it with other Dunoon-area peaks, so it's worth checking what else is nearby rather than making a special trip just for this one. The views justify the effort, though - wind depending, you'll be up there a while soaking it in.
