Blackhill Wood

The trees at Blackhill Wood press in properly close - ancient oaks and conifers that have seen centuries pass through Powys. It's the sort of forest where you lose the outside world within ten minutes of walking in, which is exactly the point. The woodland trails wind through thick undergrowth and past the kind of gnarled trunks that make you realise how small you are. Not vast or overwhelming, but proper atmospheric.
