The stone and timber structure dates back centuries, and if you can get inside (opening varies, so ring ahead), you'll spot the original construction methods that kept roofs on through centuries of Cotswold weather.

It's not a visitor attraction in the conventional sense - more a working piece of agricultural history that locals know about. History buffs will find it interesting; families with young kids might struggle unless they're the type who actually care about vernacular architecture, which, fair play, some are. The real draw is understanding how rural buildings evolved, and this one's a proper example.

Blackford's close enough to Swindon for a day trip, though honestly you'd want to combine it with the nearby parks - Great Farm (2.7 miles away and excellent, 5.0 rating) makes a solid base.
